Your child's goals
How coaches set development goals, how your child works on them, and how you tell the coach how it is going.
For families, players
After each skills check, your child's coaches set two or three goals. Each goal is on one skill from the club's rubric, with a target score and a line on how to get there. You find them on your child's Goals tab.

Reading the score boxes
Each goal shows the skill's 1 to 10 scale as ten boxes, with a key underneath.
- Orange (Start in the key): where your child was when the goal was set.
- Striped: the steps still to climb (steps to go).
- Outlined (Target): where they're working towards.
- The names under the boxes are the club's three bands: Developing (1 to 3), On target (4 to 7) and Strong (8 to 10). The right score depends on age.
Under the boxes, the goal says in words what the target level looks like. What the scores mean in More describes every level of every skill.
Start on a new goal
A new goal is ready to work on as soon as the coach sets it. Talk it through with your child, then press the orange Train button: Up next suggests a workout, and Log practice records drills done away from the app. (If your club doesn't use off-ice training, the orange button is Log and opens it straight away.)
Tell the coach how it is going
- On the goal, open How is it going?
- Choose a rating: Not yet, Getting there, Most of the time or Got it.
- Tick [child] chose this rating if your child picked it themselves.
- Add a short note in Anything to tell the coach? (optional) if you like, up to 300 characters.
- Press Send to coach.
What else is on a goal
- Work on it off the ice: exercises that build the skill, with a button to start a short workout. Any workout with them counts as practice on that goal.
- Drills for this goal: on-ice and at-home drills from the club's library, some with an animation.
- The coach's latest quick check, if they have done one, and their reviews when they choose to share them with you.
- History: every rating, review and practice entry for the goal.
Coaches review each goal regularly, every two weeks unless your club has chosen a different gap. When a goal is reached they close it, and new goals usually follow at the next skills check.
