SEND support from families

What a parent has shared about their child's special educational needs or disability, where to find it, and who else can see it.

For coaches, club admins

Parents of a child with special educational needs or a disability (SEND) can tell the coaches what helps at training. It's their choice to share, and only they can write or change it.

Where to find it

  • On the player's page, the SEND support card shows the needs, what helps and the signs they're finding it hard. Press Read all for the whole profile and any documents.
  • On the team's Medical tab, SEND support shared marks each player whose parents have shared something.

What's in it

  • Needs: a diagnosis if the parent chose to share one, or what the child finds hard.
  • What helps, and What can upset or overwhelm them.
  • How to talk to them.
  • If they're finding it hard: the signs, and what to do.
  • Documents, such as an EHC plan or the school's support plan. Each opens in a new tab.

Who can see it

The coaches and assistant coaches of the child's own teams, the club's head coaches and the welfare officer. Team managers, club admins who don't coach, other parents and players can't. A coach who isn't on the child's team doesn't see it.

If the parent removes it, it's gone for everyone straight away. If the club erases the child's record, it's deleted too.
