The 1 to 10 scale and the three bands
Every skill is scored from 1 to 10 against written descriptions, grouped into three bands.
For coaches, families, players, club admins
Every skill is scored from 1 to 10. Each level has a written description, so a coach, a parent and a player all read a 6 the same way.

The three bands
| 1 to 3: Developing | Still building the basics of this skill. |
| 4 to 7: On target | Where most players are expected to sit. |
| 8 to 10: Strong | Ahead on this skill. |
On the scoring screen the colour key reads Below 1-3, On target 4-7 and Above 8-10. These are the same three bands.
Scores depend on age
Each skill has an expected range for each age band, such as "U12 · 4–7". A U10 and a U16 on the same score are at different stages. When you score, the typical range for the player's age is outlined on the buttons.
Reading the descriptions
Staff open The rubric from Club. Parents and players open What the scores mean, in More on a phone. Each skill lists its stage for each age band, the three band descriptions, and what every level looks like.
If more than one coach scores a player, their scores are averaged.
A skill marked not seen enough is left out of averages and never counts as a low score.
