The safeguarding portal, for the safeguarding lead
How the club's safeguarding lead runs cases from report to outcome, with the IHUK policy steps, and keeps track of vetting and training.
For club admins
Only the safeguarding lead sees Safeguarding. It opens on what needs attention, what's due in the next week, vetting and training, and who to tell.

Running a case
- A new concern arrives as New. Press Pick up this case: the person who raised it is told it was received, and the IHUK policy steps are added to the case.
- Set the status (new, open, referred, monitoring or closed) and the risk (low, medium, high or immediate danger).
- The Chronology can be added to but never edited, so the record stays true to what happened when.
- Add Steps and follow-ups with dates, and Record a referral and Record their response for anyone you refer to.
- Close the case with its outcome, or reopen it if something new comes in. Log an incident records something you were told directly.
Vetting and training
Vetting and training shows who is cleared, who isn't and whose renewals are due, for staff and club volunteers. Record a check logs a DBS Update Service check, and each person has a full history.
