The drill library

Find drills for every rubric skill, read how to run them, add your own written drills and share a drill with a link.

For coaches

Open Drills from the top menu (on a phone, it is under More). The library has drills for every rubric skill, many of them animated on a rink diagram.

Finding a drill

Use the category chips, or Search and filter by name, Skill and Age band, then Show drills. Each drill also shows on the rubric page for its skill, under Drills for this skill.

A drill's page

Each drill shows its Time, Where, Space (full ice, half ice, one zone or the crease), Ages, Players and Level, with the animated diagram. Below are the Coaching card (Make it easier and Make it harder), How to run it and What to look for.

  • Edit diagram, Draw this drill, Copy and edit or Draw a version open it in the designer (club admins, head coaches and coaches).
  • Copy share link makes a link that opens this one drill without signing in. It cannot be changed to open a different drill.
  • At-home drills can be set as a team's drill of the week with Set for this week.

Print it, or hear it

PDF or image opens a printable sheet: the facts, the skills it develops, a rink for every step with its notes, set-up, how to run it, what to look for, and easier and harder versions. Print or save as PDF, or Download image. Anyone in the club who can see the drill can print it.

Listen reads the drill aloud in a coach's voice: the summary, steps and coaching points. On an animated drill, Narrate each step talks through the diagram as it plays. Nothing plays until someone taps.

Adding a written drill

Press Add a written drill to add one without a diagram: a title, a one-line summary, steps, coaching points, the skills it develops, whether it is On ice or At home, age bands, minutes, equipment, and an optional video link to YouTube, Veo or Hudl.

Families can open drills too. On an at-home drill they see Log practice to count it towards a goal.
